Austin Comes Home

Last night, our son Austin came home for the first time in 3 weeks.

I went to the funeral home after work, and picked up the urn containing his ashes. We decided on cremation for him, as that would be a way we can always keep him with us, regardless of if we move elsewhere or whatever life may bring down the road.

Last night was tough for me. While getting the gallery set up I looked through a few pictures of me holding him, and it called to mind the memory of that event. We had him on the floor, doing some tummy time. He was getting pretty good at rolling over from his tummy to his back, however he had enough. He was getting tired and let us know by crying. I picked him up, and he sat on my lap as I knelt on the floor. And seeing the pictures of me holding him like that really made me miss him.
